Tulip Time in the Boccelli Garden

Tulips in Boccelli Garden

Tulipa 'Prinses Irene', a 'Rembrant-type'

Tulipa 'Temple's Favorite', a Giant Late Tulip

The Lily-flowered Tulipa 'Ballerina' with Variegated Honesty behind

We have tried to select tulips for the Boccelli Garden that can be easily seen while driving along Grove Street and have subtle coloration and distinctive shapes that are beautifully unique when examined closely. We like to think that we hit the mark. We hope you agree!

  1. Oh, I agree heartily! I wish I lived close enough to come inspect them close up, but am happy to admire from afar. Ballerina and Princess Irene are two of my favorites, I will have to remember them for next fall's bulb purchasing expedition!

  2. Karen,
I'm glad you like them. I keep experimenting with other tulips at the Pavilion Garden in Depot Park and sometimes come up with duds.I never am disappointed with 'Prinses Irene' and 'Ballerina'.They also have a nice color echo but 'Prinses Irene' is shorter and works well in the front of the border.
